Known as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), the process involves attaching electrodes to the skull and targeting specific areas of the brain with calculated jolts of electricity.
“The brain is an electrical organ, so it makes sense to try to manipulate what’s going on in the brain with electricity,” explains neuroscientist Dr. Michael Weisend.
As the mother of an adult child (age 34), who has suffered with the devastating effects of NARCOLEPSY since the age of 16, I would like to suggest the possibility of Electrical Brain Stimulation to increase wakefulness, and decrease the sleepiness of this dreaded disease.
It is my hope that you will consider research in this area of medicine.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Interesting idea. You might try running that by the DIY tDCS folks at http://www.reddit.com/r/tDCS/ It’s possible that’s been tried.
