Whoa! Digging a little deeper into the tDCS SubReddit I found this detailed account from a fellow who built his own tDCS device. Long comment thread as well.

I also made the above tDCS device and could only attain 1.2 mamps. irrespective of the resistors in put in the system, I was advised to place 2 x 9 volts in series, this increased the milliamps slightly but not much. Any advise. Alister
Hi Alister, I would only suggest that you try asking on the original Reddit thread and see if anyone takes you up on it. http://www.reddit.com/r/tDCS/comments/qn6s5/diy_tdcs_howto/. Best,John
Looks good – I will put one of these together – my present one is very basic – lacking a meter & ramping.
Thanks for stopping by Gareth. I’m very much enjoying following along with your experiments on your blog. I do think the meter makes a lot of sense as well.
The layout or schematic is different than the photo. I am attempting to build it and the photo shows that there are two resistor (unknown value) between the Potentiometers and the R terminal of the current regulator LM334M. The schematic show that there is only one resistor 15 Ohm tied in from the potentiometer to the V- terminal of the current regulator and the anode. Please advise?
Hi Ed, I could only suggest you go back to the Reddit thread http://www.reddit.com/r/tDCS/comments/qn6s5/diy_tdcs_howto/ and look through the comments or open another thread. The electronics people in the tdcs sub reddit seem to be very helpful. Good luck and keep me posted. Would love to see it when it’s done. John
